Today, Intel provided updates on its annual workforce data and on progress toward its annual diversity hiring and retention goals in the 2016 Diversity and Inclusion Annual Report. Meeting diversity goals in 2016 demanded continued dedication to inclusive hiring practices and the introduction of innovative, research-based programs. The milestones and outcomes in the report signify the tangible results of Intel's journey toward change and inclusion.

As Intel works to fulfill its goal of full representation of women and underrepresented minorities in the U.S. workforce by 2020, it has achieved the diversity hiring and retention goals for 2016, including reaching 45.1 percent diverse hiring and retaining diverse employees better than parity. Additionally, Intel increased the overall representation of women by 2.3 percentage points since 2014, and achieved pay parity and promotion parity for women and underrepresented minorities.

The report also illustrates progression of women and minorities across all levels of the company as Intel works to sustain an environment where all employees thrive. It provides an update on data-based programs introduced in 2016, including the WarmLine service designed to provide employees with guidance and counseling on career-related issues, as well as the multicultural retention and progression study that helped Intel managers better understand barriers to retaining and progressing underrepresented minorities.

Intel's diversity and inclusion efforts are supported by its $300 million Diversity in Technology initiative, which focuses on investing in underserved populations, creating an inclusive supply chain, combating online harassment and expanding access to STEM education.
