Bridgeall, the IT consultancy that operates the software used to administer water and wastewater retail services in Scotland, has expanded its managed hosting requirement with iomart to ensure maximum availability and secure backup.

Bridgeall operates and provides the testing services for the IT systems that help the Central Market Agency (CMA) to calculate and settle approximately £300 million of annual invoices. Having used iomart for colocation in its Glasgow data centre at first, Bridgeall has since turned to iomart to set up an operational infrastructure for the CMA which includes a private cloud and backup in a secondary data centre.

iomart provides Bridgeall with fast and efficient enterprise-grade backup using EMC's Avamar.

Ken Willcox, head of cloud services for Bridgeall, explains: 'We deliver business critical solutions to important markets and having the weight of a respected PLC behind us which has an impressive array of accreditations is an important part of the package we offer.'

iomart is one of the most accredited hosting providers in the UK, operating to the new international standard on cloud privacy ISO/IEC 27018 as well as meeting ISO standards 9001:2008, 27001:2013, 20000:2011, and 14001:2004.

iomart's managed cloud solutions are also available to public sector organisations in Scotland under the Scottish Government's Hosting Services Framework.
