Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading provider of application performance and security resilience solutions, today announced that Orthogone Technologies has selected Ixia’s network testing solutions to validate the functionality and performance of Orthogone’s recently launched suite of ASIC/FPGA Ethernet media access controller (MAC) and physical coding sub-layer (PCS) IP cores.

In response to growing bandwidth requirements, Orthogone’s ASIC/FPGA IP cores offer ultra-low gate count utilization and industry-leading latency performance. Each includes standard and advanced features ideal for a large number of bandwidth-intensive applications such as data centers, high frequency trading, low-latency switches, Quality of Service (QoS) based packet processing, as well as test and monitoring equipment.

“We’ve teamed with the best in the industry to help us validate and measure the performance of our Ethernet MAC & PCS IP cores,” said Alexandre Raymond, senior vice president of product development at Orthogone Technologies. “Our MAC and PCS round-trip latency is the fastest in the industry, so we needed a best-in-class test solution to accurately characterize the performance of our products. Using Ixia’s test solutions, Orthogone can ensure compliance and maintain the highest quality standards for our products.”

Ixia’s network test and validation solutions emulate realistic media-rich traffic and network conditions, enabling customers to optimize and validate the design, performance and security of their pre-deployment and production networks.

Orthogone purchased Ixia’s IxNetwork test solution with a compatible chassis (the XGS2-SD Chassis) and the NGY 10 GE High-Density XM and Xcellon-Flex 4x40GE load modules to deliver maximum performance under all conditions for their new Ethernet MAC & PCS IP core products.

To ensure accurate results, IxNetwork simulates full line rate traffic with granular control on MAC/IP frame, size and rate per flow. The traffic generator/analyzer analyzes millions of traffic flows with user defined QoS, and the built-in real-time statistics/analyzer pinpoints any deviation in QoS policy, packet latency, mis-ordering and drops.

Orthogone offers a range of electronic design services including FPGA/ASIC design, PCB design, software development and full turnkey electronic product development. The company will present its new high performance 1, 10, 25, 40, and 100Gbps Ethernet MAC & PCS IP cores at the Super Computing 2015 event in Austin, Texas from November 16 to 20, 2015.
