KKR Appoints David Katz Head of Asia Pacific Public Affairs

HONG KONG & SINGAPORE - November 20, 2017 - Leading global investment firm KKR today announced the appointment of David Katz as Director and Head of Public Affairs in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Katz is responsible for managing KKR's public affairs and external communications across Asia Pacific, as well as engaging government stakeholders and overseeing the consideration of environmental, social and governance ('ESG') issues throughout KKR's investment process in the region. He will additionally help to support the public affairs and communications efforts of KKR's portfolio companies.

He will report to Kenneth Mehlman, Member and Global Head of Public Affairs, and is based in Singapore. His appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Katz joins from PayPal in Singapore, where he served as Deputy Head of Global Government Relations and Head of Asia Pacific Government Relations. In that role, he managed PayPal's global government engagements across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Prior to PayPal, Mr. Katz was at eBay, where he managed Asia Pacific Government Relations for both eBay Marketplace and, at the time, PayPal. He previously served as a senior advisor in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation ('APEC') Secretariat in Singapore, and served in the Executive Office of the President for eight years as a staff member of the United States Trade Representative ('USTR').

Before his time at USTR, Mr. Katz was a member of the U.S. diplomatic service and a special assistant to U.S. Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell.

Mr. Katz is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and received an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.
