Lendlease's Yarrabilba welcomes its 1,500th resident
02 June 2015

South East Queensland's fastest growing community, Yarrabilba has welcomed its 1,500th resident, Hannah Larsen and her family, a significant milestone since its first public sale three years ago.

Hannah, Samuel & Eli will be part of the 45,000 residents who will come to live and work in Yarrabilba's 2,000 hectare community over the next 30 years.

Managing Director of Lendlease's Communities business in Australia , Matthew Mears said Yarrabilba's 1500thresident was a significant milestone and reflection of the great community offerings.

"Yarrabilba is set to be a living example of Lendlease's continuing efforts to set new standards for the future of community design, creating places where people feel like they belong and are proud of where they live and can continue to grow and prosper."

"It is fantastic to see the community growing and attracting new residents with its wide range of living options and convenient access to community and recreational facilities."

The 1500th resident Hannah said she and husband Samuel fell in love with Yarrabilba when they made an enquiry about the first land release.

"We were instantly drawn to the great outdoor spaces, water playground for our son Eli as well as the wide range of affordable housing options. We had being looking around for a while but just couldn't find the right block of land, Yarrabilba ticked all the boxes!

"We are excited and overwhelmed to have moved into our brand new home. We love the sense of community and the facilities Yarrabilba has to offer. We have already met the neighbours and have made friends with other families - we couldn't be happier," said Hannah.

Planning for Yarrabilba's first neighbourhood includes significant commercial and community infrastructure and amenity. This includes a village centre precinct, primary school (planned to open in 2017), mixed use development, tavern, Caltex service station incorporating a Star Mart convenience store (planned to open in December 2015), medical centre (planned opening in mid-2016) and the completed builders display village, $5 million Darlington Parklands, featuring a new water playground and pop-up café, Shaw Street Oval and integrated community facilities

Yarrabilba will become home to more than 45,000 people over the next 30 years, covering 2,012 hectares of land between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Eventually more than 17,000 new homes will be constructed at Yarrabilba along with shopping centres, schools, employment generating businesses, extensive parks and recreational facilities.
