The Americas Region of Lendlease Celebrates its 20th Annual Global Community Day

Lendlease, one of the world's largest development, property, infrastructure and construction management firms, participated in its 20th annual Community Day today.

Over 3,500 Lendlease employees across the Globe volunteered on over 230 projects, strategically chosen in accordance with Lendlease's global focus on sustainability to address social, economic and environmental issues challenging communities around the globe.

"We believe that it's our responsibility to deliver environmental, social and economic value wherever we operate," said Denis Hickey, Chief Executive Officer Americas. "Community Day's purpose is for Lendlease to establish lasting partnerships with the local communities where we have a presence," said Hickey.

In the Americas, over 650 Lendlease employees participated in 50 projects that included building, gardening, cleaning and painting facilities and organizations that benefit children, families, animals and veterans. Some of Lendlease's notable sponsored Community Day events are listed below:

New York - Volunteers held a carnival for the local Harlem Police Athletic League after school program involving elementary and middle school children. All of the children who attended the carnival received a gift pack donated by Lendlease that consisted of reusable Lendlease water bottles, bags and lunchboxes as well as school supplies.

Washington DC - Lendlease volunteers worked with the Capital Area Food Bank, packing and sorting donated food, and packing bags of food for senior citizens and children.

San Francisco - Volunteers visited the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco and provided academic support to members of the club.

Raleigh - Lendlease staff volunteered at Duke University's Children Hospital and participated in a carnival and ice cream social for children who are receiving care at the hospital.

Chicago - Volunteers worked on refurbishing the Scottish Rite Cathedral one of the oldest buildings in Chicago.

Los Angeles - Lendlease staff volunteered at The Cardinal Manning Center, a homeless shelter in downtown Los Angeles, where staff painted their Drop-in Center.

Boston - Volunteers provided the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club with a new gravel walkway for the facility.

Nashville - Lendlease staff worked with Rebuilding Together Nashville to enhance two East Nashville low-income homes.

Hawaii - Volunteers visited the Kunai Village and AgriBusiness Complex and connected a new water line and cleaned up the harden walkway at the top of the village.

Since the inception of Community Day in 1995, Lendlease employees have donated over 500,000 hours worldwide to community projects.
