MILPITAS, CA - Augus t 18, 2014 - Linear Technology Corporation announces the LT3062, a high voltage, low nois e, low dropout voltage linear regulator. The IC delivers up to 200m A continuous output current with a 300m V dropout voltage at full load. The LT3062 features a wide input voltage range of 1.6V to 45V, delivering adjus table output
voltages from 0.6V to 40V. A s ingle capacitor provides both program m able ultralow nois e operation - only 30µVRM S
acros s a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth - and reference s oft-s tart functionality, preventing output voltage overs hoot at
turn-on. The LT3062's output voltage tolerance is highly accurate at ±2% over line, load and tem perature. The device's wide input and output voltage ranges , fas t trans ient res pons e, low quies cent current of 40µA (operating) and <1µA (in s hutdown) m ake it ideal for portable battery-powered s ys tem s that require optim um run tim e, and for autom otive, indus trial and avionic power s upply applications .
The LT3062 operates with a s m all, low cos t, ceram ic output capacitor, optim izing s tability and trans ient res pons e. It is s table with only a 3.3µF output capacitor. Thes e tiny external capacitors can be us ed without the neces s ary addition of s eries res is tance (ESR) as is com m on with m any other regulators . The LT3062's internal protection circuitry includes revers e-battery protection, revers e-output protection, revers e-current protection, current lim it with foldback and therm al lim iting.
The LT3062 is offered in therm ally enhanced 8-lead 2m m x 3m m DFN and MSOP packages , ens uring a com pact footprint. The E- and I- grade vers ions feature an operating junction tem perature of -40°C to +125°C, the high reliability H-grade is s pecified from -40°C to +150°C and the m ilitary MP-grade operates from -55°C to +150°C.
