Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, principal investment and capital markets arm of Macquarie Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Marc Janailhac (HEC and IHEDN). As a Senior Adviser to Macquarie Capital, Jean-Marc will report to Mark Dooley, Head of Infrastructure, Utilities and Renewables for Macquarie Capital Europe.

His appointment marks the latest in a series of senior hires as Macquarie Group continues to strengthen its principal investment, advisory and fund management capabilities in France and across the continent.

Jean-Marc brings nearly two decades' experience in the utilities and environment sector to the role. Prior to joining Macquarie Capital he was Chairman and CEO of Gruppo Zilio in Italy (water treatment). He is currently CEO of SFIC Development SAS (a consulting company in business development) and is a board member of Greentech Energy Systems A/s (Denmark) and Fabregue (France), as well as a Senior Advisor to Eurohold (Spain). In addition, he has previously held a number of senior leadership roles in Europe including Head of Waste Management Activities in Southern Europe for Veolia Group and Senior Adviser for Eneris International (investments in utility companies).

Mark Dooley, Head of Infrastructure, Renewables and Utilities, Macquarie Capital Europe, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Jean-Marc to Macquarie. His knowledge and insight into the European energy and infrastructure market, particularly in France and with the French sponsors community, will bring immense value as we continue to support the needs of infrastructure investors and borrowers.'

Jean-Marc's appointment follows the hire of Stephane Brimont to Macquarie's global funds business, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, in France. Both hires are a sign of Macquarie's commitment to the continental European infrastructure market.
