Marrone Bio Innovations : Regalia Biofungicide Products Approved for Home and Garden Uses in Canada

Canadian homeowners now have new, effective and environmentally friendly options available for lawns, ornamentals and vegetable gardens

DAVIS, CA - July 14, 2016 - Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI), (NASDAQ: MBII), a leading provider of bio-based pest management and plant health products for the agriculture, turf and ornamental and water treatment markets, today announced that Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has approved two Regalia products for home and garden uses in Canada.

With PMRA approval of REGALIA Liquid Fungicide Ready-To-Spray and REGALIA Liquid Fungicide Concentrate, Canadian homeowners now have two new options to manage a wide range of fungal and bacterial diseases on lawns, flowering plants and other ornamentals, as well as fruit and vegetable gardens, without the environmental hazards presented to birds, small wild mammals and aquatic organisms posed by some other fungicides in domestic use today.

The REGALIA product portfolio, with all formulations based on an extract of Giant Knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis), is a suite of highly effective, preventative biofungicides for use on both conventional and organic lawns and gardens. REGALIA products prevent and fight diseases by triggering treated plants to produce their own inherent disease-fighting biochemicals (induced systemic resistance), while simultaneously enhancing plant health, including boosts in the vigor and quality of lawns, ornamentals and fruit production. REGALIA home and garden products are not harmful to homeowners, pets, beneficial insects and pollinators.

The PMRA approved product labels include lawns, ornamental and flowering plant and a wide range of fruits and vegetables, including pome fruit, stone fruit, grapes, strawberries, cane and bush berries, tomatoes, peppers, cucurbits and potatoes. Many diseases, including powdery and downy mildews, gray and white molds, blights, fruit rots and lawn dollar spot and brown patch, are included on both REGALIA home and garden product labels.

MBI markets a more concentrated formulation, REGALIA Maxx, in Canada for specialty crops through its distributor Engage Agro. REGALIA Maxx was previously approved by Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency for outdoor and greenhouse use on a variety of fruits and vegetables and ornamentals, wheat, highbush blueberries, apples and turf.
