MEDIA GENERAL NAMES STEVE LAVIN GENERAL MANAGER OF WBAY-TV IN GREEN BAY, WI

Richmond, VA - Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG), a local broadcast television and digital media company, today announced that Steve Lavin has been named Vice President and General Manager of WBAY-TV, its ABC affiliate in Green Bay, WI, effective January 1, 2015. Mr. Lavin is currently Station Manager/General Sales Manager for WBAY, a position he has held since 2007. Mr. Lavin will succeed current Vice President and General Manager Don Carmichael, who will retire at the end of this year after 21 years of distinguished service in that role.

Mr. Lavin worked at WBAY from 1996 to 2000 as an account manager. From 2000 to 2004, he served in sales executive positions, including Local Sales Manager and General Sales Manager, for WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, WI. He returned to WBAY in 2005 as General Sales Manager. Mr. Lavin graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS degree in Journalism/Advertising. He worked for the Green Bay Press-Gazette from 1990 to 1996 in retail advertising sales. His current industry and civic involvement includes serving on the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Board of Directors, including as chair of the Sales Committee, and he is a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Alumni Association-Brown County Chapter. He is a graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters Development Seminar and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association-Walker Management Institute. He graduated from Leadership Green Bay with the Class of 1998.
