FLORENCE, Ky., Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, made an official visit to Meritor, Inc.'s (NYSE: MTOR) Florence, Kentucky distribution center today to meet with employees and discuss issues facing the manufacturing industry.

McConnell met with executives to discuss topics including energy policy and trucking industry regulations with Meritor's Ike Evans, chairman and CEO; Craig Frohock, vice president, Aftermarket & Trailer; Krista Sohm, vice president, Communications; Rick Fulks, senior director, Aftermarket Operations; and Terry Livingston, general manager, Global Product Management & Shared Services.

Following the briefing, McConnell updated approximately 75 employees on events in Washington and took questions.

Meritor's 440,000-square-foot facility in Kentucky distributes aftermarket parts for trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, coaches, fire trucks and other specialty vehicles.
