A future store on the Bosporus: at the real estate fair MIPIM in Cannes, France, the new concept for the MCC store in Istanbul was presented.

Shopping downstairs and relaxing in the garden upstairs: the future METRO Cash & Carry store in the Istanbul district of Kartal will be both, a wholesale store and a paradisiacal roof garden. This dual use forms part of the new concept for the property: here, METRO PROPERTIES is creating a so-called mixed-use property. In addition to the store the company is building modern office space and private apartments. Its residents and the tenants of the neighbouring apartment blocks will be able to use the roof of the MCC store as a garden. That way, the independent, individual buildings are connected in a special way.

The Turkish developer of METRO PROPERTIES presented the model for the Istanbul store at the real estate fair MIPIM held in Cannes, France from 10 to 13 March. Until the insolvency of Praktiker, the property in Kartal was home to an outlet of the DIY chain and a small shopping center. Now, the company is working full steam on the new project: "Following the planning phase we are now pushing ahead with the implementation and marketing", says Jean-Christophe Bretxa, CEO of METRO PROPERTIES.
