Dressed" overall for the occasion, Cruise Ferry MYKONOS PALACE welcomed all the guests with many artistic surprises in her public areas. At the ceremony that followed, the guests had the opportunity to see the vessel's modern and comfortable spaces and enjoy the on-board services that will be offered to the passengers by the well-trained staff of the ship.

The event began with a welcome address from the host, the rite of sanctification, followed by the inauguration ceremony with the raising of the Greek flag by the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Mr. Panagiotis Kouroumplis, who honored the event with his presence.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy, Mr. Dionysis Temponeras, the Chief of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Mr. Stamatis Raptis, Supreme and Senior Officers of the Coast Guard, Members of the Parliament - Piraeus constituency, Representatives of Bodies, Organizations and Associations, Presidents and members of the Cretan Associations of Athens, representatives of the Greek Media, and others. In addition, on Behalf of Minoan Lines Shipping Company, the Managing Director, Mr. Antonis Maniadakis, members of the Board of Directors, Executives and officers of the company's ships attended the ceremony.

In his speech, the Managing Director of Minoan Lines, Mr. Antonis Maniadakis, pointed out:

We invest, as we have been doing for the last 45 years, in the upgrade of the sea transportation of our country and we enrich the line of Chania with the ultra-modern Cruise Ferry MYKONOS PALACE, a newly built vessel, of only 16-years old, enhancing at the same time the tourist and financial development in the wider area.

Our company's goal has always been and remains the same, to offer complete high quality services to the passengers, turning their sea voyage to a unique and unforgettable experience."

MYKONOS PALACE is a new vessel, worthy of the town of Chania, which can accommodate 1.922 passengers, 732 berths και 821 private cars or 104 trucks and 110 private cars. She develops a cruising speed of 31.50 knots. She features state-of-the-art security and navigation systems and fully renovated hotel equipment, carefully crafted in every detail (modern cabins, self-service and a la carte restaurants, bars, lounges, swimming pool, conference and shopping centers, spacious garage, etc.), offering a high level of services at sea, luxury and comfort.

Cruise Ferry MYKONOS PALACE will operate her scheduled routes, in 6 hours and 30 minutes, with daily departures, from Piraeus Port at 16:00 and from Souda Port at 24:00.

Minoan Lines will also hold a similar event on September 16, 2018 at the port of Souda. Entrance will be free for the public to visit and tour the hospitable interior areas of the cruise ferry.
