Omaha(FOX42KPTM)-For parents, sending their kids out to trick or treat by themselves can be a scary thing. Fortunately there are some apps out there that can make trick or treating less worrisome. One of the newest apps called Trick or Tracker allows android users to synch up two phones, one for the parent and one for the child. The app uses gps to help the child and the parent to find each other.

Trick or Tracker isn't the only safety app out there. A number of others provide similar services. Life360 allows family members to keep track of each other with minute-by minute updates, while the Lookout App uses a mapping program to locate your child from your phone or computer. Google Lattitude provides real-time location data of your child's phone via tablet in addition to your phone or computer. The FBI Child ID App allows an easy place to store details about your child, like photos, height and weight, so the information is readily available should your child go missing,

If you won't be sending your child out with a cell phone, there are other ways to help him or her stay safe. One way is by using Safety Tattoos which are temporary stickers parents can place on their children which include emergency contact information.
