Driven by its desire to spread awareness on the importance
of applying safe driving rules and limit car accidents, and
based on its social responsibility towards the youth
population, Wataniya Telecom announces its sponsorship of
"Road Rush 2 Race", which took place on March 9th and 10th
at the Bahrain International Circuit.
It is Wataniya's first time to sponsor the Road Rush Race,
which is specially designed for young ladies only to take
part in. The participants raced their sports cars over two
consecutive days competing against each other in different
race obstacles to win valuable prizes and medals. Prior to
commencing the race on March 9th, a car show was hosted at
the Kuwait Historic Car Museum in Kuwait exhibiting the
participating sports car and served as an opportunity for
the media to meet with the racers before heading off to
Bahrain for the race.
Commenting on the sponsorship of the exciting car race and show, Abdulaziz Al-Balool Director of Public Relations at Wataniya praised the success achieved in the first Road Rush which encouraged Wataniya to sponsor the second race. Al-Balool emphasized the importance of the race in reinforcing safe driving rules amongst women and car enthusiasts. The aim is to reduce car accidents on the streets which remain to be an important objective for Wataniya to achieve within the community.
Al-Balool also added: "Wataniya Telecom does not spare an
effort when it comes to sponsoring sports especially those
bringing the youth together and creating fun and thrilling
events for them. Wataniya's aim of this sponsorship is to
support women in various areas of interest, including
sports, as well as to raise awareness on racing in safe and
internationally controlled environment such as the Bahrain
International Circuit".
