Navitas welcomes commitment to expanded student visa streamlining
Leading global education provider Navitas has welcomed plans
announced today by federal and state governments to expedite
the expansion of streamlined student visa arrangements for
low risk education providers.
Announced following today's Council of Australian Governments
(COAG) meeting this measure will allow low immigration risk
providers, including Tafe's and some private providers, to
utilize streamlined student visa assessment processes
introduced for universities in late March.
This measure will significantly improve the visa application
process for international students seeking to study in
Australia, reducing the cost and time taken to secure a
visa.
"This is a very welcome move by COAG and should help to
improve the global competitiveness of Australia's third
largest export sector," said Rod Jones, CEO of Navitas.
"Of course the devil will be in the detail and we will look
forward to engaging with
Government as they implement visa streamlining across the
sector." he said.
