NiSource ranks among the top leaders in the changing global energy industry, according to a new Thomson Reuters study that analyzed more than 1,500 energy companies.

As one of Thomson Reuters' Top 100 Global Energy Leaders, we hit the mark in eight key pillars, ranging sustainability commitment to cultivating diversity and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace to more traditional barometers of success like financial performance and investor confidence.

The companies listed in the report are 'renaissance organizations' that stay one step ahead, Emily Lyon, managing director of the Thomson Reuters Energy Practice, says in the new report.

Part of the first-of-its-kind proprietary scoring review includes recognition for NiSource as a top 25 multi-utility, joining well-known American utility companies and global peers.

'It's an honor to be recognized with this group of companies for the work we've done - and continue to do - to deliver for our customers now and well into the future,' says NiSource President and CEO Joe Hamrock.

The Thomson Reuters ranking is the latest example of how we're being recognized for meeting our commitments. Other recent recognition includes:

  • Dow Jones Sustainability Index (four straight years) and earned a spot as the second-highest ranked multi-utility in the country
  • Named frequently as a best place to work, including recently by Forbes Magazine
  • World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute (six straight years)
