'As soon as August we can start transport from Russia, which will strengthen our comprehensive offer significantly and support the implementation of our strategy. It will be possible thanks to an agreement we have just entered into, regarding cross-border transportation from Kaliningrad Oblast,' Zbigniew Nowik said, the President of the Management Board of OT Logistics.

OT Logistics implements a strategy aiming at its achieving a leading position in the transport, forwarding and logistics sector in the region. As part of this strategy, the Group intends to increase its share in transshipment of goods along the so-called 'New Silk Road' from China. With this purpose in mind, last year it established a new subsidiary, OT Logistics Bel, dedicated to servicing Belarussian customers. The Group has also concluded a memorandum with the Chinese enterprise China Gansu International Corporation for Economic and Technical Cooperation (CGICOP), regarding logistics services for a container terminal that the Chinese party intends to build in Bruzgi in Belarus, near the Polish border.

'The New Silk Road from China to Europe provides a huge opportunity, but also a considerable challenge. We carry out a range of activities which add to our possibilities in the field of handling the freight traffic along the East-West line. We wish to be present at places where freight from China is taken over by logistics operators from the European Union. Simultaneously, we also build a South-East transport channel between the Baltic and the Adriatic Sea,'President Nowik added.

In the 1st quarter OT Logistics Capital Group's railway division generated revenue amounting to PLN 17 million. During this period the Group's railway companies achieved the transport performance of 245.5 million tkm (tonne-kilometres), which means an increase by 53% compared to the same period last year.
