Easton Baseball/Softball Kicks-Off National HIT LAB Tour in Van Nuys
EASTON HIT LAB Provides Consumers with State-of-the-Art
Experience & Immediate Feedback on Swing Mechanics

VAN NUYS, Calif. - September 11, 2015 - Easton Baseball/Softball, a leading manufacturer of baseball and softball equipment, announced today a new national EASTON HIT LAB tour that will begin on September 12 at its global headquarters in Van Nuys. Built and designed around the science of hitting, the EASTON HIT LAB allows players of all ages to use state-of-the-art sensor technology that provides instantaneous feedback and video to help a batter improve his or her swing mechanics.

"We have been studying the science of hitting and sports engineering since launching the industry's first true aluminum baseball bat in 1974," said Todd Harman, Executive Vice President, Easton Baseball/Softball. "Through our EASTON HIT LAB, today we want to take what we know about the swing, biomechanics and technology to help the athletes we serve. In cities across the U.S., the EASTON HIT LAB will help young athletes by using the latest EASTON sensor technology and product experts to maximize their performance."

The EASTON HIT LAB will feature the same product experts that outfit many of the country's top NCAA Division I baseball and softball programs. Participating consumers will have a chance to take swings with the latest EASTON bats using the recently-launched EASTON Power Sensor. The Power Sensor is the brand's first-ever precision swing motion sensor that helps players of all abilities hit with more power and efficiency.

By providing immediate video playback, social media sharing and a player's Blast Factor, the EASTON Power Sensor is a unique and powerful training tool. The Blast Factor is a 1-100 score that shows a player's overall swing performance and is a simple way to compare and coach proper mechanics. Additionally, based on a player's swing and feedback, EASTON product experts can match them with the right bat to maximize their Blast Factor and - ultimately - their performance.

"Our team is excited to get on the road to showcase these innovations and to be partnering with local EASTON dealers and teams in each community," Harman said. "Combining the expertise of our team with swing feedback from our just-launched Power Sensor is a unique opportunity for kids, parents and coaches, and it's the next evolution of our commitment to elevating performance through innovation and sports engineering."

Following the EASTON HIT LAB launch in Van Nuys, the tour will include stops in New York, Columbus, Ohio, Houston and Atlanta this fall and will be executed in partnership with local teams and authorized EASTON retail stores in those areas. An updated schedule is available at Easton.com.
