Permskie Motory OAO : Perm Gas Turbine Units Efficiency is Improved in Operation

OJSC "Perm Engine Company" Customer Support Department summarized the work results in October 2012.

Within the month Customer support Department specialists performed efficiency restoration of aircraft engines PS-90A different modifications in operation conditions on the site of airline company location. They replaced fans where the blades were worn out as a result of debris penetration in «Cubana de Aviacion» (Republic of Cuba) and OJSC "Aeroflot" (Moscow) airline companies. They also performed the engines PS-90A and PS-90A-76 compressor blades grinding for the aircrafts Tu-204 and IL-76MD in the service park of two more air carriers - «Silk Way» (Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan) and «Valdivostok-Avia» (Vladivostok). Engines' operation parameters were brought into conformity with requirements and their operation is proceeded.

Acute issues of maintenance and  PS-90A engines life prolongation were discussed at the working meeting which took place in the city of Vladivostok. Igor Matsenko, OJSC «Valdivostok-Avia», Technical Director, Yuriy Kaplan, OJSC "Perm Engine Company", Head of Customer Support Department, Valeriy Chernov OJSC "Aviadvigatel", Deputy Chief Designer on Operation Issues took part in this meeting. Engine-builders, designers and operators paid special attention to possibilities of damages elimination reduction time, i.e. damages caused by debris in the gaspath and maintenance time on the whole. Moreover they considered the possibilities of cost reduction for the engines subject to scheduled maintenance at OJSC "Perm Engine Company" delivery to Vladivostok.

One of the effective decisions of these problems is organization of PS-90A aircraft engines restoration in operation by means of separate assemblies replacement right on the site of airline company's aircrafts location. As a result of the meeting the parties signed a protocol where they defined the following joint actions and their lead time. 

As for the customers' support of industrial gas-turbine engines manufactured by OJSC "Perm Engine Company", a team of Customer Support Department together with the specialists of assembly - test complex of OJSC "Perm Engine Company" performed the rework of three PS-90GP-25 engines in Vorkuta. These engines are intended for operation in GTU-25P at the compressor station "Gagaratskaya" of "Nord Stream" gas line. The rework which included replacement of one element in low pressure turbine was aimed to elimination of smoke emission which can occur at some operational modes of this series first engines.

Such rework had been performed on two engines for compressor stations "Babaevskaya" before. Two more engines are scheduled to be reworked for compressor station "Usinskaya".
