Singapore, 18 August 2014 - element14has added to its extensive portfolio of development kits - ranging from starter kits to complete development boards - several new ARM-based solutions from technology partners Freescale, Atmel, NXP and Texas Instruments(TI), including a host of exclusive new design resources such as reference designs, application notes, datasheets and associated accessories.

Sean Mak, Head of Supplier Management, element14 Asia-Pacific said, " element14 aims to be the go-to center for development kits and tools, and has partnered with key silicon providers to make available a wide selection of solutions to support design engineers right from the start of the design through to production, ensuring faster time-to-market and savings."

Several of the newest kits are :

The new Freescale FreedomK64F development platform features a Kinetis K64 series microcontroller built on the ARM© Cortex®-M4 core, and can be used to evaluate the K64, K63 and K24 Kinetis Kdevices. It is ideal for developing applications which require high memory density, low power and optimized integration.

The NXP ARM LPC1768 MBED prototyping board allows quick and easy evaluation of the high level integration and low power consumption of the LPC176x family of microcontrollers; this makes it a great starting point for Cortex-M3 projects across a broad array of designs and applications; available at sg.element14.com/1761179

The mbed-enabled Nucleo boardfrom STMicroelectronics provides an affordable and flexible way for designers to try out new ideas and build prototypes with any STM32 microcontroller line, choosing from the various combinations of performance, power consumption and features.

BeagleBone Blackdevelopment platform, based on TI's Sitara AM3358 processor, which features an ARM Cortex™-A8 processor running at 1GHz and an onboard HDMI. Technical documents at http://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-54121

In addition, touch-screen display expansion capesfor the BeagleBone family, available in two sizes; 4.3" and 7" displays, come with a resistive touch-screen and provide full access to the BeagleBone GPIOs.

From Texas Instruments Tiva™ C Series, the TM4C1294 Connected LaunchPadEvaluation Board (EK-TM4C1294XL) is a low-cost evaluation platform for ARM® Cortex™-M4F-based microcontrollers. In addition to its on-chip 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY, and motion control pulse-width modulation, it offers breadboard expansion option and BoosterPack XL expansion connectors. Its quickstart application enables remote monitoring and control from an internet browser anywhere in the world, for users to create their own Internet-of-Things applications.

The Atmel Xplained evaluation kit, ATSAM4S-XPLD, is a hardware platform to evaluate the AT91SAM4S16C microcontroller - a 32bit ARM-based Cortex-M4 core with operating speed of 120MHz, 1MB of flash and 128KB of SRAM. The kit enables users to get started using SAM4S peripherals right away and understand how to integrate the SAM4S device in their own design; available at sg.element14.com/2215343
