Singapore, 22 April 2014 -  element14 evaluation board from Infineon, designed to offer 32-bit power to current 8-bit users, delivering cost-effective, breakthrough performance achieved by using 65nm embedded flash production technology and combining an ARM 32-bit processor.

The XMC boot kit features an Infineon XMC1000 microcontroller with 64KB FLASH ARM Cortex-M0 and is suitable for industrial applications such as motor control, LED lighting, digital power conversion, smart sensors and touch control; it is fully compatible with Arduino Shields.

Andy Wong, Senior Manager, Industrial and Multimarket Segment Marketing, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, said, "We are pleased to offer our new products at element14 which has established itself in Asia-Pacific as the Dev Kit HQ where customers can easily find the widest range of development kits and peripheral products.  Its comprehensive network supports our customers with its local inventory, customer service and technical support."

The XMC1100 overcomes the limitations of today's 8-bit designs and comes with a detachable SEGGER J-Link debugger and UART virtual COM port, with micro USB connector.  Its six user LEDs enable electronics designers to benefit from higher efficiencies and a lower cost for their next-generation systems.
