Good news for football fans: the Proximus League, over which Proximus holds the exclusive rights, will in part be broadcast on the RTBF during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons.

Indeed, Proximus and the RTBF have reached an editorial agreement on the broadcasting of the Proximus League in order to get viewers acquainted with and to promote this competition by broadcasting one match per month on the RTBF's channels (as from September). The competition in its entirety will still be available exclusively on Proximus TV through the Belgian Football option (grouping all coverage of the Jupiler Pro League and the Proximus League), available from €9.95/month.

With this competition having gained in appeal and competitiveness thanks to its new format, viewers can look forward to some excellent matches and high-quality football.

The goal of this partnership is therefore to allow all football fans to discover the Proximus League.

But the partnership is not limited to just the broadcasting of matches! To offer the general public the chance to become fully acquainted with this competition and the clubs that make it up, numerous competitions will be held on proximus11.be and Vivacité. Football fans will have the chance to win tickets to attend matches live from the stands.

Every year, Proximus also holds its 'Proximus League Tour', offering at least two activities per year in each stadium.

Phillip Vandervoort - Chief Consumer Market Officer, Proximus: 'Through this partnership with the RTBF, we hope to get the general public acquainted with the Proximus League, this competition in which we have been believing for some years now, and to get people to enjoy the spectacle that it offers.'

Michel Lecomte - Sports Editor-in-Chief, RTBF: 'RTBF favors in its editorial coverage, the Belgian sports and Belgian sportsmen. This partnership is perfectly in line with its ambition, and complete a rich and diverse offer, attentive to the evolution of the sport and its competitions.'

The first match that will be broadcast is Union-Antwerp at 4 p.m. on 4 September on la Une.
