Major potential for optimisation in the aluminium production value chain

Berlin, 17 September 2014 - PSI subsidiary PSI Metals Non Ferrous GmbH will be presenting the PSImetals solution for the optimisation of the production processes in the aluminium industry from 7 to 9 October at the ALUMINIUM 2014 in Dusseldorf (Hall 9, Stand 9F10). Along with the higher utilisation of capacity, the focus will be on a continuous quality assurance and properly sorted use of scrap metal.

At this year's ALUMINIUM, the emphasis will be on the challenges in the fields of quality and efficiency in the recycling of aluminium, for example how PSImetals can help to produce highest-quality products with the highest material requirements from mixed scrap metal. Furthermore, the focus is also on environmentally-friendly production as well as the requirements from an increasing market expansion into the automobile sector for aluminium manufacturers.

Especially for new qualities of material and increasing variations of material, PSImetals provides an integrated alloy calculation as the basis for even more complex alloys. This reduces, amongst other things, the number of subsequent alloying processes and applies this as the most important parameter for all variables of the specific production cycle. The comprehensive and integrated material genealogy allows the complete backtracking from the final product to the heat.

PSI Metals is the leading supplier for production management solutions in the metals industry combining SCM, APS and MES to optimise production and logistics. The software solution PSImetals enables manufacturers of steel and non-ferrous metals to ensure their competitive edge by helping them reach the goal of full, on-time, quality certified delivery of their customer orders, while respecting inventory, productivity and cost performance targets.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (gas, oil, electricity, heat, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety.
