PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) who are member of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd Consortium (KHI) implemented groundbreaking ceremony of Ore Preparation Facility Line 4-P3FP Construction Project (Pomala Ferronickel Expansion Project) owned by PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) in Pomala, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, on Friday (1/11).

The Project with a value total of US$ 102 million (WIKA share is US $ 26.73 million) includes the construction of major equipment of rotary dryer with a capacity of 260 tons per hour (tons per hour / TPH) and a rotary kiln with a capacity of 20 TPH (EPC work). Construction of this facility is intended as preparation of nickel ore and nickel kelsin to meet the needs of electric smelting furnace-4 (ESF-4) and electric smelting furnace-2 (ESF-2).

Bambang Pramujo, Director of Operations II WIKA in his speech said that this project began on May 1, 2013 until August 1, 2015. So far, the progress of the project had reached 12%. "We are optimistic that this project can work well and meet targets with the collaboration of WIKA young and experienced engineers," he said.

In addition, the Company is also working on the project of modernization and optimization of ferronickel 1 (MOP-PP-FENI 1) factory valued at US$ 13.5 million and Refining 3 MOP-PP projects with a contract value of US$ 35.47 million.
