7 November, 2013 WIKA Gedung: Revitalization of Traditional Markets in Jakarta

Located at Manggis Market, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, Wednesday (6/11), the process of revitalization of traditional markets in DKI Jakarta entered new phase. It was marked by a groundbreaking ceremony in the middle of the old traditional market place by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Joko Widodo. "By delivering Bismillah, I inaugurate the construction of five markets today," the governor said as he pressed the siren inauguration.

The Groundbreaking ceremony at the Manggis Market marked similar construction in other four markets, namely: Nangka Bungur market in Central Jakarta, Kebon Bawang market in North Jakarta, Kampung Duri market in West Jakarta, and Pesanggrahan market in South Jakarta. The construction cost of the five markets about of IDR 50 billion from the additional optimization of Bendungan Hilir with the private sector. PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA Gedung) is believed to be the main contractor in the revitalization of those markets. The construction of the five markets targeted for completion in November 2014.
