OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- QTS Realty Trust (NYSE: QTS), one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities, managed hosting and cloud services, today announced that it has been selected by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) to host GHA's IT infrastructure in a HIPAA-compliant IT environment in QTS' Atlanta-Metro data center. GHA's mission is to advance the health of individuals and communities by serving as the leading advocate for all Georgia hospitals and health care systems. It promotes the health and welfare of the public through the development of better hospital care for all of Georgia's citizens.

"Our goal is to continue to find ways to provide value for our hospital members in this rapidly changing health care environment," said GHA Vice President, CIO Brandon Hargrett. "We are striving to enhance member interaction with the goal of becoming a one-stop shop for all things advocacy and education for Georgia hospitals."

GHA chose to move its infrastructure from a previous provider into QTS' LEED Gold Certified Atlanta-Metro Data Center based on QTS' demonstrated ability to provide HIPAA/HITECH compliant IT infrastructure services and a customer-centric approach to efficiently planning and executing its migration.

"Many providers are able to do one thing well, but QTS excelled in a variety of areas including HIPAA/HITECH compliance and IT security best practices," Hargrett said. "We have completed our migration and QTS is now delivering superior levels of IT performance and we are leveraging QTS' innovative customer portal that has automated many administrative and access processes."

"The Georgia Hospital Association represents the interests of healthcare organizations that also require highly secure and scalable IT infrastructure to safely share sensitive data, and meet strict regulatory mandates including HIPAA and HITECH," said Dan Bennewitz, Chief Operating Officer, Sales and Marketing - QTS. "With more than a decade of experience keeping IT infrastructure and data secure and protected, we are pleased to support the GHA and its members with the highest levels of IT performance and compliance."

QTS recently announced its Healthcare Community Cloud (HCC), a purpose-built IT Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution for healthcare organizations. QTS HCC builds on QTS' cloud and compliance expertise, allowing customers to leverage the benefits of the cloud such as improving agility, optimizing operations and resources to reduce capital expenditures, and protecting electronic patient health information (ePHI).
