RENGO CO., LTD. Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, Chairman, President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that its Thai joint venture company, Thai Containers Group Co., Ltd. (hereafter "TCG") has acquired a 100% stake in D-In Pack Limited (hereafter "D-IN"), through their subsidiary. D-IN is a corrugated box manufacturer operating in Nakorn Pathom Province (Thailand) with an annual capacity of approximately 15,000 tons.
Further growth of corrugated demand in Thailand can be expected as many Japanese companies choose the country as their manufacturing base in the ASEAN region, and as national income increases. The acquisition will increase the Rengo Group's annual corrugated box production capacity in Thailand as well as the total number of corrugated production plants to 15.
The corrugated packaging business in Southeast Asia is an important strategic focus for the overseas business of the Rengo Group-which aims to be a "General Packaging Industry" (GPI)-and Rengo will work to further enhance its corrugated packaging supply system in the region.
