High fidelity image generator aimed for military simulation and training

PRAGUE (April 27, 2015) - The Rockwell Collins EP-8100 image generation system will make its international debut this week at ITEC 2015 in Prague. The new product was launched earlier this month during a customer open house at the Rockwell Collins facility in Orlando, Florida.

"We believe the EP-8100 will create excitement among ITEC attendees this year because it brings new levels of realism and performance to training environments while preserving the investments customers have already made," said LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins.

One of the key differentiators of the EP-8100 is the system's ability to utilize customers' existing databases. It features conversion software that allows existing Rockwell Collins synthetic environments, as well as many industry standard synthetic environments, to run on the EP-8100. These converted environments can be executed in their original form or may be enhanced to take advantage of the unique capabilities of the EP-8100.

In addition to the EP-8100, Rockwell Collins will also demonstrate its RealFiresTM transportable trainer. RealFires is a high fidelity, scalable training solution designed by experienced joint fires operators for the joint fires community. This rapidly deployable training system contains up to three cases for the controller, the instructor, and an optional role player. The training system sets up in minutes and is easy to use and edit.

Visitors to ITEC 2015 are invited to stop by the Rockwell Collins exhibit (Stand 4A-430) to see how the EP-8100 provides high performance image generation in a compact design with increased reliability. Plus, attendees are invited to take a look at the immersive role-play and student capabilities of RealFires.
