WASHINGTON, May 22, 2017 -
Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, has renewed an agreement with Rockwell Collins to provide technical support for the Known Crewmember® (KCM®) program to airline industry crewmembers. The KCM® program decreases airport congestion by providing alternative screening opportunities for airline crewmembers, reducing the impact on the general screening lanes used every day by the traveling public. The agreement continues the relationship established in 2012 when the two companies came together to introduce the service.

'Rockwell Collins provides valuable infrastructure and service to facilitate the safe and secure vetting of approved crewmembers through the KCM® access points,' said A4A's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial and Operating Officer Paul Archambeault. 'We forged a great working relationship with the Rockwell Collins team over the past five years and look forward to continuing that relationship.'

'This program allows crewmembers to utilize a more efficient security-screening process, facilitating faster screening while maintaining security,' said Yun Chong, vice president, Commercial Aviation Services for Rockwell Collins. 'This is a great example of how A4A is constantly working with leading airlines in the U.S. to find ways to improve the passenger experience.'

KCM® currently has 60 airlines participating, operates in 74 active airports at 163 screening locations and has cleared more than 69 million crewmembers since inception.

The Known Crewmember program enables Transportation Security Administration Security Officers to verify the identity and employment status of airline crewmembers, who already undergo thorough criminal background and employment checks as a condition of their employment.
