Toronto, June 24, 2014 - Route1 Inc. (TSXV: ROI), a leading provider of secure access technologies for the mobile workspace that protects businesses and government agencies and whose customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy and the Government of Canada, today announced the commercial release of MobiKEY 4.4 with support for audio.

MobiKEY now enables thousands of mobile users to securely listen to audio or video from their workspace without transferring any files to the mobile asset.  The audio functionality is available from any laptop or mobile device running Windows and can be enabled via the MobiKEY Agent 4.4 for any desktop running Windows Vista and above as well as any server running Windows 2008 R2 and above.

Given the demand from a growing customer base with VDI environments, MobiKEY 4.4 also features general performance and usability improvements for MobiKEY clients connecting to VMware virtual desktops.  The focus on larger deployments has also led to a streamlined password reset enrolment process for users of the MobiKEY Classic 2 (MC2) device.

"One of the challenges mobile workers face today is the lack of a unified, simple and time effective approach to address enterprise communications - data, voice and video.  Without it, communication limitations and/or burdens are imposed on the mobile worker, and in some cases a patchwork functionality approach drives degraded security," said Brian Brunetti, President of Route1.  "MobiKEY 4.4 Audio provides a secure approach for employees and contractors to address their enterprise communications through one, unified, highly secure technology."

The MobiKEY technology unlocks the productivity gains of mobile access and BYOD without exposing the organization to the risks of data spillage or malware propagation by remote users. It uniquely combines secure mobile access, with high assurance identity validation, and plug and play usability.
