8th flawless lift off of Vega

Lift-off of Vega's eight flawless mission and the second launch this year of the Vega rocket on a commercial mission to deliver a Turkish Earth observation satellite into orbit.

SABCAis responsible for developing and manufacturing the Thrust Vector Control of each of the four stages/motors, as well as the inter-stage structure 0/1.

Vega is a 30 m-high, four-stage vehicle designed to accommodate small scientific and Earth observation payloads of 300-2500 kg depending on the orbit.

Named after the second brightest star in the northern hemisphere, Vega makes access to space easier, quicker and cheaper. It operates from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. The innovative technologies regarding electro-mechanical actuation systems developed by SABCAin preliminary programmes provide opportunities to reduce costs.

SABCAwas involved in the Vega programme since the very beginning.

With strong shareholders (Dassault Group and GKN Aerospace/Fokker) and soon celebrating its first century in aerospace, SABCA1200 highly motivated employees master all skills from early phases of 'Build-to-Print' and 'Build-to-spec' programs to full customer support.
