Sacyr, through its environmental services subsidiary Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, heads the consortium that was awarded the Conservation of the Historic Gardens of National Heritage service contract for a period of four years and more than six million euros.

This contract includes the parks of La Granja, El Escorial, El Pardo, Campo del Moro, Aranjuez and occasional interventions in the gardens of the Marivent and Almudaina palaces (Palma).

Valoriza will carry out conservation works on a total of 180 hectares distributed between palace gardens and surrounding forests, both of which have the highest maintenance requirements due to the complex diversity of styles in the gardens, which range from Renaissance to Neoclassical with French and English landscaping influences

Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales has been contracted to both improve the ecological value of the gardens through proper maintenance and enhance their historical and social value; to that end, throughout the duration of the contract Valoriza will conduct structural viability studies on significant trees, install signage that contains historical information about the gardens, create new flower bed designs that enhance the garden's style and carry out ongoing improvement works on paths, fences, walls, etc.

This new contract enables Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales to strengthen its position in green area maintenance and conservation, where it currently operates in Madrid, Seville, Zaragoza, Fuenlabrada, Alcobendas, Arroyo de la Encomienda and Coslada. Together with the street cleaning and waste collection services it provides, the company now boasts a portfolio in excess of 2.75 billion euros.
