WALLDORF - SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has been recognized as a leader for the 13th consecutive time in Gartner's June 2018 Magic Quadrant for Utilities Customer Information Systems.*

'The utilities industry is facing a dynamic business model disruption where it's balancing the efficient operations of existing infrastructure with the need to adapt to a changing market,' said Henry Bailey, global vice president, SAP Utilities Business Unit. 'We believe this recognition affirms SAP's commitment to empowering the industry to effectively sustain and grow customer relationships, while enabling digital transformation to develop new business models and to capture emerging opportunities.'

In the report, SAP is positioned highest among all vendors on its ability to execute. The report states: 'For utilities seeking CIS software, a vendor's Ability to Execute is primarily a combination of factors driven by product functionality, architecture and performance. It also includes the ability to meet customer expectations during product delivery and operation.'

With over 800 utilities worldwide using the SAP Customer Relationship Management and Billing for Utilities package, SAP maintains the largest market share. The package is an integrated part of SAP's suite of solutions, allowing utilities to streamline processes through one integrated system. This helps enhance the customer experience as organizations can engage customers anytime, anywhere from a single end-to-end platform.

According to Gartner, 'Digital transformation of the utility sector has impacted the CIS market, creating new requirement for advanced customer engagement models with better customer experience (such as social media or consumption/bill analytics or digital customer experience).' SAP enables utilities to optimize the customer experience and have access to the information they need by providing real-time analysis using the SAP HANA platform. As the digitalization of the industry continues, analytics will play a central role in improving operations and optimizing customer experiences.
