SAP Customers and SAP HANA Software Recognized at 2014 Ventana Research Technology Innovation and Business Leadership Awards

The 2014 Ventana Research Technology Innovation and Technology Leadership Awards recognize the most vital advances in business-critical technologies made throughout the year, as well as innovative organizations which have advanced their core goals by best utilizing information in innovative ways.The Ventana Research Technology Leadership category recognizes organizations which have integrated innovative technology and advanced data analysis into their operations to help meet their strategic business goals. Three SAP customers were recognized for the impact that SAP solutions have on their organizations.

Varian Medical Systems, a leading creator of cancer treatment technology, was announced as winner of the Service and Supply Chain Leadership Award for utilizing SAP® Business Suite software powered by SAP HANA® to dramatically simplify computationally intensive business processes and improve the transactional performance of its global revenue forecast functions. The successful implementation of the solution will allow Varian Medical Systems to place a heightened focus on its goal of delivering new innovations in cancer treatment and expand its penetration in growing markets. One of the largest telecommunications service providers in Indonesia, with more than 40 million subscribers, was announced as the winner of the Social Media Leadership award for its use of the SAP® InfiniteInsight® solution to better communicate with and increase customer loyalty over social channels. The implementation allows users to better identify which customers were in danger of switching carriers and then identify the right incentive to offer the customer based on predictive tools.

Daimler Trucks North America, one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in the nation, was announced as the winner of the Business Intelligence Leadership Award for utilizing SAP Lumira® software to help identify sales opportunities and further its leadership in the aftermarket business segment. The implementation has allowed Daimler Trucks to combine three silos of data - sales history, vehicle and part failure rate - to provide a better view of its customers' needs.

The Technology Innovation Award showcases the latest innovations which are driving business value across the organizational sphere. In recognition of its ability to improve productivity and outcomes for businesses across various industries the SAP Audit Management application powered by SAP HANA was presented with the Ventana Research Overall Technology Innovation Award. SAP Audit Management powered by SAP HANA streamlines and aligns audit processes to make it easier for auditors to analyze data and glean greater insights. Also integrated within SAP Audit Management is the SAP Fraud Management analytic application, which helps businesses detect fraud quickly and effectively. SAP HANA advanced analytics provide powerful in-database analytics to better process large volumes of data to provide richer insights for data scientists and business users.
