Julie Yoo has been selected to lead corporate development strategy and activities for Scripps Networks Interactive (NYSE:SNI).

As senior vice president, corporate development, Yoo will provide counsel and support for the development and execution of Scripps Networks long-term corporate growth strategies. She’ll lend her extensive transactional experience to lead the company’s corporate development team as it identifies, evaluates and executes acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and partnerships that support the company’s growth objectives.

Scripps Networks Interactive is a leader in developing lifestyle programming for television, the Internet and mobile platforms. The company owns and operates HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, DIY Network, Cooking Channel and Great American Country.

Yoo is based in New York and reports to Joseph G. NeCastro, chief financial and administrative officer.

“Julie has been instrumental in guiding key acquisitions, partnerships and investments that underpin the company’s ambitions to expand internationally,” NeCastro said. “She’s a highly knowledgeable and skilled financial executive with considerable experience managing strategic transactions; all attributes that are valuable to the company as we identify, evaluate and act on opportunities to grow.”

Since joining Scripps Networks four years ago, Yoo helped direct the company’s 2013 acquisition of Asian Food Channel and 2012 acquisition of Travel Channel International. She also has played a key role in negotiating corporate investments and digital partnerships in the U.S. and abroad.

Prior to Scripps, Yoo assessed transactions and oversaw mergers and acquisitions at NBC Universal. Before that, she served as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, and worked at The Vanguard Group. She received both a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
