Our mission at Box is to create the best possible experiences for working with information in the cloud - not only within Box, but also when creating or editing files with other programs. We know our customers use a range of content-centric apps to enable productivity across their organizations. That's why we partner closely with the most popular enterprise tools to ensure that they work with Box's content management and collaboration platform in a seamless, intuitive way.

Today at BoxWorks, we're taking this commitment to the next level by announcing some our deepest, most meaningful integrations to date which will be rolled out next year. We're developing native integrations with the content apps you use most: Adobe, Autodesk and DocuSign, in addition to our recently announced work with Microsoft. This means that when using any of these four services, users will no longer need to repeatedly download, save and re-upload files or switch back-and-forth between programs. When previewing a file in Box, there will be a simple drop down menu where users can now open that file in the appropriate program and instantly get to work, with the edited file saved back to Box automatically. Similarly, you can create new file types right from within the Box interface. Because files are saved back to Box rather than users' desktops, it's also a far more secure way to work.

This more secure, streamlined workflow isn't possible without our outstanding ecosystem of partners who value interoperability when creating delightful user experiences. So we went to our partners and asked them: Why is your company prioritizing enterprise interoperability and how do you think that continued commitment to working with partners on seamless solutions will impact the future of work?

Here's what they had to say....

Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President and Chief Evangelist, Microsoft Corporation
'Enterprise interoperability is fundamentally changing the way people work, making them more dynamic, creative and productive. When we think about the reinvention of business productivity, we see mobility, conversations and interoperability coming together in new and interesting ways. Work requires mobility of the human experience and shouldn't be bound to any one device or location. To be at their most productive, people should be able to do any project, on any device, anywhere they choose. And conversations should be at the center of getting things done. When we do work with companies like Box, the goal is to help people more easily collaborate across the globe on different devices, in different apps, and across all their work artifacts (documents, communications, and business process events and tasks). We think the connection between mobility, conversations and interoperability is powering the reinvention of business productivity and we're proud to be partnering with Box to bring those innovations to customers together.'

Mike Borozdin, the Head of Partner and Developer Engineering, DocuSign

'It's no secret that large companies invest a significant amount of time and money into their technology infrastructure - especially the systems that create, store and manage their data.

With new solutions being implemented all the time, there's a baseline expectation from a company and its users that everything works seamlessly with what's already there. Whether that's by supporting open APIs or by using pre-built connectors, it's actually more than an expectation --- it's a table stakes requirement.

At DocuSign, we get this. Our goal is to help organizations transact business 100% digitally. To do that, we must work closely with our partners, and we have a long history with companies like Box, Salesforce and hundreds of others. Our focus is on ensuring that our joint customers have the best experience possible - empowering them to transact anything, anytime, anywhere, on any device, natively in the apps they use every day. We also want to ensure that once a DocuSign agreement is complete, it's stored securely and there is a clear audit trail back to where the transaction originated - again, from within that native app.

As the cloud ecosystem continues to expand and mature, we're building our experience to naturally leverage this growing interoperability. And we are expecting a host of new 'use cases' to also come to the fore, especially where devices are connected as part of the Internet of Things.'

Mark Grilli, Vice President of Product Marketing, Adobe Document Cloud
'The way we manage everything in our personal lives has changed dramatically in recent years; it's far more fast-paced, social and mobile. The role of technology has been huge-making everything we do simple and immediate. Today we expect the same in the workplace, and it's having a massive impact on the modern enterprise, as companies around the globe focus on digital transformation.

As we look to work in the future, led by a generation raised on touch and text, we can expect it to be even more digital, data-driven, collaborative, and automated. And to keep pace with advances in our social lives, enterprise technology must hold itself to the same standard of simplicity and immediacy, and work well across systems in a way that's seamless to the user. At Adobe, we're focused on delivering that future. It's how we approached the development of Adobe Document Cloud, and the inspiration behind where we're headed with its two key pillars, Acrobat and Adobe eSign services-all centered on helping our customers finish business faster.'

Scott Reese, Vice President, Cloud Platforms and Operations, Autodesk
'Traditional means of collaboration are failing designers and engineers due to the complexities of working with engineering data. These customers require an entirely different scale of working together and sharing information--from enormous model file sizes to 3D visualization requirements,' said Scott Reese, vice president of cloud platforms at Autodesk. 'Understanding the unique needs of our customers, we built the first cloud collaboration platform, A360, geared for design and engineering projects. And now the integration with Box makes it even easier for our customers as it removes the frustrations associated with the common tasks of viewing, sharing and reviewing designs, and ultimately leads to productivity gains and better communication for designers and engineers.'
