Servelec Controls is proud to announce the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 registration of its Aberdeen office. ISO 27001 relates to Information Security Management and adds to the office's range of BSI-accredited registrations.

The standard certifies that the office classifies all information, identifies risk and has procedures in place to detect breaches thereby ensuring that information security is a top priority throughout the business.

Servelec's Aberdeen office, the company's Real-time Information System Centre of Excellence, also holds certifications for ISO 22301:2012, Societal security -- Business continuity management systems, and ISO 9001:2008, Quality management systems.

Ronald Holden, Divisional Director for Aberdeen, remarked:

'We are delighted to have achieved ISO 27001 registration as it demonstrates our commitment to information security. Recently there has been an increase in cases making the news where serious breaches have resulted in disruption to operational systems. We work extensively with systems that monitor and control critical assets, so it is of paramount importance to both Servelec and our clients that information is managed securely to safeguard the national infrastructure. Our processes have been aligned with this standard for some time and it was a real achievement for this to be recognised with the award of this standard.'

The registration follows an intensive audit by the British Standards Institution and certification lasts three years.
