Recalls of hardlines products fell in Q3 2017 in both the USA and EU, in comparison with the previous quarter.

With 243 recalls, the EU saw a drop of 14% in hardline products recalled. These included toys, food contact materials and pyrotechnic articles (fireworks), which presented choking, chemical and burns risks respectively.

In the USA, 28 products were recalled in the toys and furniture categories. The most common risks identified for toys were choking and laceration, and for furniture, entrapment and tip-over.
