SGS has awarded 18 of the hotels in the Decameron All Inclusive Hotels and Resorts chain with Hospitality Excellence certification, recognizing the emphasis that the hotel chain places on providing safe and satisfactory spaces for both employees and guests.

The Hospitality Excellence program is based on the strict standards of:

  • Federation of Tour Operators
  • British Association of Travel Agencies
  • Codex Alimentarius
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS)

To achieve certification, Decameron had to undergo audits of food, water and general and building safety, as well as audits of emergency procedures. Together, all 18 hotels received an average score of 99.82.

Decameron is the only hotel chain in Colombia, and one of only a few worldwide, to have volunteered for Hospitality Experience auditing and certification.

'Maximizing customer experience has become the top priority for the hospitality industry,' says Peter Hvidberg, Global Head, Travel and Hospitality Solutions. 'We are privileged to have enabled Decameron Hotels to achieve this milestone.'
