SGS has launched supplier quality development services to help the automotive industry manage an increasingly complex supply chain, in which suppliers have more visibility and responsibility. These new services will enable the development of processes and risk analysis systems to improve quality while reducing risk in an increasingly integrated and sophisticated environment.

Supplier quality development services will help automotive suppliers to increase quality, performance, and innovation while meeting cost, scheduling, social responsibility and sustainability demands. At the same time, they will help to reduce risks, such as quality failures, downtimes, major disruptions and mixed deliveries.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Crisis response and problem management
  • Prevention and risk analysis
  • Sub-supplier development
  • Organizational development

SGS automotive experts will provide support for all key steps of the product industrialization process. They will help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to develop their sub-suppliers, who often are not ISO/TS 16949 certified. Specialists will help suppliers at all levels pass the Part Submission/Sampling/PPAP, which is required before serial production and delivery can commence.
