SGS has recently been accredited to provide access to the Taiwan market for secondary lithium batteries, power banks and battery chargers.

Effective March, 2014, 3C (Computer, Communication and Consumer Electronics) that contain secondary lithium batteries, power banks and battery chargers will require BSMI (Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs Bureau of Standards) certification.

SGS has been appointed by BSMI as a designated test lab for these devices and can provide market access to manufacturers of these products.

Products must meet the following standards in order to satisfy the regulatory requirements and achieve access to the Taiwan market:

  • CNS 15364 (Lithium Cells and Batteries)
  • CNS 15364, CNS14336-1, CNS 13438 (Lithium Mobile Power Pack)
  • CNS14336-1, CNS 13438 (Battery Charger)
