The Seletar Mall aims to set its first entry into the Singapore Book of Records for its iconic event.

Singapore, 5 October 2017 - A spookilicious range of activities for shoppers will culminate in a record-breaking event at The Seletar Mall this Halloween. For the first time, The Seletar Mall aims to set a new record for the largest number of painted pumpkins in the Singapore Book of Records on 29 October.

'Halloween is The Seletar Mall's annual iconic campaign. Since its inception in 2015, the Halloween event at The Seletar Mall has been constantly evolving, to create fresh and differentiated experiences for our shoppers. This year, we have expanded the scale of the event to appeal to shoppers of all ages,' said the spokesperson from The Seletar Mall Pte Ltd.

Themed 'A Tale of Fright of Flight', shoppers will get to enjoy a range of adult and family-friendly activities with varying scare levels. This year, The Seletar Mall is also including a record-breaking feat as part of its celebrations. The activity aims to provide a platform for shoppers and their families to bond through the painting of pumpkins.

'The Seletar Mall is also keen to share the spooky fun with our furry friends. The mall will be supporting the Cat Welfare Society for the second consecutive year, raising funds to aid the Society in achieving their vision of ensuring that all cats are cared for as pet cats or treated with kindness as community cats, free from fear and suffering,' added the spokesperson.

A plethora of fun and multi-sensorial activities and a whole new level of spooky chills and thrills await you at The Seletar Mall from 6 October to 5 November.

SETTING A NEW RECORD FOR THE LARGEST NUMBER OF PAINTED PUMPKINS IN THE SINGAPORE BOOK OF RECORDS

29 October, 1.30pm

Shoppers will have the opportunity to be a part of The Seletar Mall's record breaking event, as it attempts to set a new record in the Singapore Book of Records, by having the largest number of painted pumpkins.

To be part of the event, please approach the registration counter at the Atrium on Level 1. Shoppers will also be encouraged to donate $1 to Cat Welfare Society upon collection of each pumpkin.

HALLOWEEN MAYHEM

29 October, 1.30pm to 6pm

Kids and adults are invited to celebrate Halloween in a spook-tacular afternoon of fun at The Seletar Mall - in their Halloween costumes!

Shoppers can choose to have their hands painted with henna, take a photo as a keepsake at the photo booth or take part in the mall's Trick-or-Treat Challenge.

Participants will also have the opportunity to be part of a record breaking event, as The Seletar Mall attempts to set a new record for 'a largest display of painted pumpkins in a shopping mall' in the Singapore Book of Records.

A highlight of the Halloween Mayhem is the Spooky Masquerade Contest. The guest judge for the Contest is popular youtube blogger JianHao Tan. Winners of the Spooky Masquerade Contest will stand to win more than $5,000 worth of SPH Malls vouchers, and have the opportunity to take a photograph with JianHao Tan which will be posted on his Instagram page.

Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State for Health & Transport, and Grassroots Adviser to Sengkang West GROs, will be gracing the event.

Categories and prizes for the Spooky Masquerade Contest are as follow:

Top finalists in the Children and Group categories will be required to go on stage to give a brief introduction about themselves and their costumes. Finalists in the toddler category can be accompanied on stage by the guardian/parent.

The Seletar Mall's Fright House sets the spooky stage for thrills this Halloween season. For the first time, come face to face with your innermost fears. Participants will need to summon their inner strength to exit in one piece.

*Due to the nature of the experience, it is suitable for ages 12 and above, with parental discretion advised for those under the age of 15. Minimum spend of $20 in a single-day receipt is required. Other terms and conditions apply.

CAT ADOPTION DRIVE AND CAT FASHION CONTEST

28 October, 10am to 6pm

Cat lovers unite! Come visit the beautiful rescued cats looking for homes at the Cat Welfare Society adoption drive at the atrium of The Seletar Mall.

For cat owners, register your cats in the Cat Fashion Contest on The Seletar Mall's Facebook page and stand a chance to win up to $2,000 worth of SPH Malls vouchers and prizes.

During the event, The Seletar Mall will also be recognising four volunteers from the Cat Welfare Society for the extraordinary work that they have done for the cats in Singapore.
