SMES can now create, store and print payslips online to meet MOM's deadline

Singapore, 25 January, 2016 - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) has launched the myBusiness E.Payslip app to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) create, print and keep softcopies of monthly payslips. This app enables SMEs without these capabilities to comply with the Government's 1 April 2016 timeline, when the new legislation takes effect.

In 2014, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) had announced that employers will be required to issue itemised payslips with key employment terms under the amended Employment Act. The documents help both employees and employers alike. For employees, they can understand their regular salary components as well as their employment terms and benefits. By having clear terms on payslips, employers can build trust with their employees. The Act also requires employers to keep records of their current employees for two years, and one year after they leave the company[1].

Mr Andrew Lim, Managing Director, Business Group, Group Enterprise at Singtel said, 'We understand the pressures which small companies face when running their business. Many lack resources to improve their own productivity, let alone run their operations efficiently.

'This is a timely solution given the Government's compliance requirements. With this app, SMEs can now create, store and print payslips easily in a cost-effective and convenient manner. SMEs can use E.Payslip to meet the government deadline and focus on their business with a peace of mind.'

The app best suits businesses that employ between one to fifty employees. SMEs can enjoy the service for free, if they require less than five employee records. The service is available online at http://myBusiness.singtel.com/Payslip.

SME business owners like Mr Ernest Chia, a director at Complete Evaluation Pte Ltd, welcome the convenience and practicality of mybusiness E.Payslip. Mr Chia said, 'The app's ability to include overtime pay calculations is highly useful. The overtime pay function allows companies to accommodate flexi-work arrangements, which is in line with the Government's push towards greater work-life balance.'

Mr Alan Wong, a director at Onn Fat Hong Tea Merchants, looks forward to using the app to save time on administrative matters. 'This app will allow me to devote more time to managing and growing my business. My staff would also be happier as they can access their payslips quickly, and see their salary and employment details at a glance.

'For a small business like mine, I am happy that I don't need to buy a sophisticated solution as this service can do the job for free. Also, it helps employers to keep abreast of the Government's requirements, through its automatic updating feature, without the need to buy additional upgrades,' he added.

Employers can now access mybusiness E.Payslip app globally via the Internet and on any mobile device. The app is designed so that employers can begin to use it without the need for any training. As required by the Act, the app securely stores all information for two years. Employers can now give their employees secured access to view and print their own payslips anytime, without having to go through their companies' administrators.
