Flexible introduction to the world of digital imaging

Digital x-ray technology has many advantages over analog imaging. To allow every practice to share in these benefits, Sirona has expanded its intraoral family. We now offer the new XIOS Scan x-ray scanner and the latest generation of imaging plates, in addition to the proven XIOS XG Select and XIOS XG Supreme intraoral sensors.

High image quality, easy operation, extremely reliable. The Sirona intraoral family has the right solution for every practice.

Bensheim/Salzburg. The product line of intraoral x-ray systems is now complete. In addition to the proven XIOS XG Select and XIOS XG Supreme intraoral sensors, the market and technology leader for the dental industry is set to launch the XIOS Scan to coincide with the IDS 2015. This new scanner system reliably reads out image data to specially developed imaging plates. Now, every practice can find a digital system in the Sirona intraoral family that matches its individual requirements perfectly, even if dentists and their staff wish to maintain their established workflow. "It makes no difference whether the dentist takes x-rays with an imaging plate or sensor, whether he uses a wall module or a mobile unit, whether the image is made at the treatment center or in an x-ray room. We offer the easiest access to the world of digital imaging," explains Jörg Haist, head of product management for imaging systems at Sirona.

Advantages of digitization

Compared to analog x-rays, digital radiography offers numerous advantages. There is no distortion due to films being bent during positioning. The scans result in less exposure to radiation. They don't have to be developed with long developing times or using pollutive chemicals in special rooms, but rather are immediately available for diagnosis. The image data can also be processed using filters which means that anatomical structures that are difficult to detect in the analog image become visible. The SIDEXIS software features simple controls that subsequently modify the X-ray image in terms of sharpness, brightness, and contrast.

XIOS XG sensors for the perfect workflow

Handling is especially easy and patient-friendly when using intraoral sensors. Thanks to modern sensor technology, the XIOS XG Supreme ensures exceptional image quality with a theoretical resolution of 33.3 line pairs per millimeter (lp/mm). The sensor is available in three sizes and has rounded edges so it can be easily positioned in the patient's mouth. The image can be transferred to the practice network via a USB module or using wireless WiFi technology. The method is therefore ideal for scanning to check the situation during root canal treatment.

XIOS Scan for digital images using the established workflow

Imaging plates are easier and faster to use than conventional films. The image data stored during an x-ray are read out using the new scanner. XIOS Scan is easy to operate and needs little maintenance. The images generated have a high resolution of 22 lp/mm. XIOS Scan can be easily connected to a PC and integrated in an existing practice network. XIOS Scan is compatible with the SIDEXIS 4 and SIDEXIS XG x-ray software from version 2.6.1 and up.

HELIODENTPLUS for fast, safe x-rays

Regardless of whether the dentist uses imaging plates or sensors, the HELIODENTPLUS intraoral x-ray is suitable for each of the selected x-ray methods. It is easy and intuitive to operate. Faulty images and unnecessary radiation exposure can be effectively avoided. HELIODENTPLUS complements the components of the intraoral family from Sirona to create a single, harmonized X-ray system and is now available as a unit model for the Sirona TENEO, SINIUS, and INTEGO pro treatment centers. Each of the products - tube assembly, sensors, imaging plate scanner - is characterized by its high quality and reliability. Every dentist can find the right solution for his practice and enjoy unparalleled flexibility when it comes to intraoral x-rays.

Due to the different approval and registration times, not all products are immediately available in all countries.
