The New Wahoo Racer Water Slide and Glow in the Park Parade Debut Memorial Day Weekend

ST. LOUIS, May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Six Flags St. Louis gears up for a summer of Cooler Days and Brighter Nights with the debut of "Wahoo Racer" and the "Glow in the Park Parade" on May 23. As families prepare to kick off the start of summer, Six Flags St. Louis, Missouri's premier "daycation" destination, is offering more value, more thrills and more close-to-home family fun.

"Wahoo Racer"

Six Flags St. Louis is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Harbor by expanding the water park to include the new "Wahoo Racer." Riders will reach speeds up to 35-mph as they race head-first on sled-type mats down the 262-feet of steep drops and rolls. This six-lane water racer delivers maximum speed and airtime with its triple drop layout. "Wahoo Racer" was designed and built by the award winning manufacturer of water attractions, ProSlide. "Wahoo Racer" joins Hurricane Harbor's line up of water attractions including a lazy river, wave pool, interactive kids' area, 3 water thrill rides, and over 11 slides. The 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Harbor will also be marked with a newly renovated food court featuring Johnny Rockets, Papa John's and Cold Stone Creamery locations.

"Glow in the Park Parade"

Six Flags St. Louis debuts the must see event of the summer featuring intricately illuminated floats and performers in an amazing display of sight, sound and motion. The "Glow in the Park Parade" is an unparalleled nighttime extravaganza with six custom-designed floats, two mobile units and over 100 performers and crew. The amazing production will wind its way through the park, filling the night with vibrant multi-colored lights and specially arranged cirque-style music. As the floats make their way through the streets, they will be surrounded by drummers, puppeteers, singers, dancers and kinetic stilt walkers.

The nighttime spectacular was designed and created by the Gary Goddard Entertainment Group, the mastermind behind a long list of award winning attractions around the world including "The Spiderman Adventure" and "T2/3D" at Universal Studios, The Georgia Aquarium and entertainment venues in Las Vegas and Hollywood. GGE enlisted the talents of an all-star group to create this incredible parade exclusively for Six Flags. Members of the inventive team include Benoit Jutras, one of Cirque Du Soleil's premier composers, the internationally acclaimed conceptual parade designer, Raul Rodriguez, for float design and Aubrey Denzer, artistic coordinator, who has created fluid choreographed numbers for the "Glow in the Park" performers. The final touches to the parade were added by Mia Gyzander, who designed and constructed more than 100 breathtaking costumes that will shimmer with bright colors, reflective fabrics and glowing lights.

Guests can enjoy the new "Wahoo Racer" and "Glow in the Park Parade" along with the STARBURST(R) Summer Concert Series presented by T-Mobile(R) featuring artists like Colbie Caillat, Miranda Cosgrove and Boys Like Girls, 8 thrilling roller coasters, a world-class kids' area and more with the purchase of a 2009 Season Pass.
