Slater & Gordon : Passionate advocate takes out NSW award

A Slater and Gordon lawyer has been acknowledged for her dedication and skill after receiving a coveted state-wide award.

Dubbo-based Associate Sheri Carolan was last week named the 2017 NSW Young Business Executive of the Year at the NSW Business Chamber Awards.

Ms Carolan joined Slater and Gordon in 2009. Admitted to the to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2009 and the High Court of Australia the following year, she became an Accredited Specialist by the Law Society of NSW in 2016.

Ms Carolan said the Business Award was a great but unexpected honour - validating the work she does to support her regional community.

'When my name was announced it came as a complete surprise, I was utterly speechless but extremely proud,' Ms Carolan said.

'I really do love my job and I feel privileged to be able to represent and support people in my own community.

'This acknowledgement is a reflection of the support, encouragement and faith shown in me by Slater and Gordon.'

Slater and Gordon's General Manager Rachael James praised Ms Carolan for her passion and commitment to her clients, which had clearly been a crucial factor in her winning the NSW award.

'Sheri embodies everything we strive to achieve, which is the best result for her clients,' Ms James said.

'This award is a testament to the dedication she brings to her role, working with her team to support and guide her clients through truly challenging times.'
