Snap-on Celebrates Dads & Grads

Flyer features great deals for seasoned and novice techs

KENOSHA, Wis. (May 18, 2016) - Whether it's time to pick a gift for Dad or help a recent grad start their tool collection, Snap-on has tools for skills of all levels. The annual Dads & Grads Flyer is chock full of gift ideas ranging from cordless power tools like the Snap-on CTRS761 MicroLithium Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit or everyday must-haves like the Snap-on SOSTPC Automotive Service Tray.

Featured on the cover of the Dads and Grads Flyer is father and son team, Carey Geddes Sr. and Jr. Owning and operating their shop in Virginia, both men are hard-working techs who depend on reliable tools to get the job done.

"I've been a tech my entire life and know how important it is to work effectively and efficiently," says Carey Sr. "My favorite tool in the Dads & Grads Flyer is the Snap-on SOSTPC Automotive Service Tray. I like it because it adjusts so you can work under the hood and have your tools within close reach."

The SOSTPC has a leg clearance of 25 inches that allows the service tray to slide under the hood from the front or side of the vehicle. With an adjustable height clearance of over 36 inches to nearly 48 inches, the tray clears the fender or front end on most vehicles to meet the demands of shops servicing domestic and import models. The removable parts tray and screwdriver holders are built into the tray to make swapping out tools between jobs quick and easy.

Carey Jr. says his dad taught him everything he knows about being a tech and the importance of using the right tools. One of his go-to tools is the Snap-on CTRS761 14.4 Volt MicroLithium Cordless Reciprocating Saw.

"I use my reciprocating saw almost every day because I do a lot of exhaust work," says Carey Jr. "It's compact enough to get into tight spaces, and it definitely gets me out of a lot of jams. What I like most about the saw is its compatibility with all of my other 14.4 volt tools. The same battery works for my cordless drill, ratchet and even underhood light."

When Carey Sr. and Jr. need any other tools, they look to their franchisee, Craig Dadey, who has been with Snap-on for about 21 years, and calls on their shop regularly.

"The SOSTPC is a great service tray compatible with multiple trucks and cars. It saves time and works differently from a roll cart because it adjusts up and down," says Dadey. "The CTRS761 Carey Jr. likes is one powerful saw. It cuts through steel, wood and plastic with ease and has a variable speed-controlled trigger switch. This saw reaches 3,100 strokes per minute when it's fully charged and that means non-stop sawing."

Dadey can relate to the Geddes' family business, as his son and daughter work as assistants for his two Snap-on mobile stores. During a period when Dadey was unable to work, his children stepped in to run the family business.

"I worked with my dad part-time while I was in college, and once I graduated, I joined him on his route," says Dadey's son, Matt. "I sold Carey Jr. his cordless reciprocating saw. I did a demo for him in the shop and told him about the perks of having the inter-changeable battery."

Jo, Dadey's daughter, has only been in the business for three years, and enjoys working with customers Carey Sr. and Jr.

"They appreciate our family business just like we appreciate theirs," says Jo. "We all work well together to provide the best service to our customers. I cannot see myself doing anything else."
