Starting from January 2016, Sojitz Building Materials Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tetsuya Onishi; 'Sojitz BM') will commence domestic sales of 'MusaShi GuardEyes,' the world's first home security system able to identify break-ins within a 3D space. The system was developed through collaboration between Sojitz BM and Computer Systems Technology Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yoshiyuki Nagao; 'CST') using CST's exclusive technologies. Sojitz BM will be responsible for expanding sales of the service.

MusaShi GuardEyes is the world's first home security system capable of recognizing individuals in a 3D space. Normal cameras can only recognize objects in 2D, leading to countless reporting errors due to misidentification. However, MusaShi GuardEyes' dual security cameras process the scene in 3D, making it possible to distinguish between people and other objects and greatly reduce the frequency of reporting errors. Home security systems up until now have typically offered a service which only sends security agents to one's home after the alarm has rung. MusaShi GuardEyes, on the other hand, was designed to be 'preventative'- focusing on preventing trespassing before intruders enter your home. It comes equipped with a function which issues a warning message as soon as a problem is detected as well as helping to keep families safe, as it can be used to confirm whether elderly persons living in the house have wandered outside or whether children have left or returned home.

Demand within the security market is expected to grow in the future as buildings fortify their camera systems leading up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Going forward, Sojitz BM plans to expand sales outside of personal home security systems, targeting housing complexes, office buildings, and public facilities. They are aiming for 500 million yen in first-year sales for MusaShi Guidance, to reach a total 2 billion yen by year three.
