Brussels, February 11, 2016 --- Solvay has appointed Cécile Canet-Teil as Group General Manager, Communications, succeeding Michel Defourny who will pursue his role as head of the Group's Corporate Secretariat.

In her new role Cécile will align Solvay's communication strategy with the Group's accelerated transformation.

Cécile joined Solvay when the Group acquired Rhodia in 2012 and as head of external communications she oversaw Solvay's new logo and branding worldwide. She led internal communications at Rhodia from 2008 onwards, following a career at Altadis, Seita and at Rhone-Poulenc where she first started her communications career in 1993.

Cécile graduated from the information and communications sciences CELSA school in Paris.

As Group Corporate Secretary, Michel Defourny implements the Group's corporate governance in providing the administrative and operational support to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Committees.
